“Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications” (Psalm 130:1-2).
Father, during this current global crisis we come to you on behalf of our brothers and sisters impacted throughout the world—and even now here in the United States. We cry out to You from the depths of our hearts for Your intervention in this crisis. Many are fearful of the future. Hear the voice of Your children both in the Mainland China where so many have turned to You as Savior in recent years and to Your body throughout the whole world as we cry out to You for the healing of the nations!
With the Psalmist we pray: “God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us…That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.” (Psalm 67:1-2, KJV). Lord, the nations need Your saving health. They need Your face to shine upon them! They need to know that Christ, alone, is the answer to all of life’s questions!
We pray especially for Your wisdom and guidance for the world’s governments and medical professionals to have Your understanding for slowing the spread of this terrible virus and utterly defeating it. And as they do, may they know without a doubt, that You oh Lord, have intervened in the nations because of the prayers of Your people.
So in faith we declare: “The Lord is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them” (Psalm 145:17-19).
As we stand before you, Lord, we invite your goodness to descend upon the nations impacted by this current crisis. You are righteous; let your righteousness sweep across these nations. You are kind; make your kindness known personally to the hearts of men, women, and children in these lands. May their peoples be transformed by your kindness. You are near to those who call on you in truth; We pray that your followers in these lands would rise up in Your truth and call upon you. Help them to know Your nearness and walk in the light of Your constant presence. Send Your salvation, oh Lord!
“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:19-20).
Your children, indeed, are crying out to You, Father. They are deeply troubled. In great distress the nations grow increasingly desperate for You. Send Your word, Lord! Send Wour word that never fails: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8). May the power of Your word heal the nations in Jesus mighty Name! Send Your Word, Lord, to bring deliverance to Your people. May Your Word rescue every hurting heart from the path of destruction from this recent outbreak of a virus affecting so many people.
“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses. He caused the storm to be still, so that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet, so He guided them to their desired haven” (Psalm 107:29-30).
Oh God, we ask that you would quiet this raging storm in so many nations. Calm the waters; hush the waves; still the seas. Send Your peace to those nations so affected by this little known virus.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
Heal every broken heart in these hurting nations, Father. Let them know that Christ, alone, is the answer to all human suffering. Be near to those who are lonely. Nourish those who are longing. Bind up those who are wounded. We invite the power of Your restoration through Jesus Christ to invade every corner of every heart in every place impacted by this virus, Lord. May this crisis cause many across China and these other impacted nations, including America, to turn to Jesus as the answer!
“I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope” (Psalm 130:5). The people of the world are waiting for Your loving response to the prayers of Your people.
All hope is in You, oh Lord God. We wait and watch, trusting Ylour kingdom will come to the nations of the world—just as it is in Heaven. Awaken all the nation to know that Jesus Christ is the “way, the truth and the life” and that He is the great healer and deliverer.
I pray this in the most beautiful name ever voiced,
